Shane Rowe, Head Chef, The Daniel O'Connell Hotel and The Peppertree Restaurant

Shane has been the Head Chef at the Peppertree Restaurant for the past three years.  His menus are influenced by Meditterranean flavours using fresh herbs, spices, stocks and sauces to suit each dish.  He has also combined his talent to include several Irish dishes.

His career spans from 20 years’ experience throughout Adelaide eateries.  He has characterized both bar and restaurant menus to include a vast choice of dishes to meet the demands of the most astute diner.  Shane’s dishes cater for all tastes and diets with vegetarians, vegans and allergy prone people in mind.

The Peppertree Restaurant has long held the enviable reputation as one of Adelaide's finest eateries since its inception in 1985. The restaurant consistently offers fine food and friendly service at a fair price, matching a traditional Irish and modern Australian menu with an extensive Wine List featuring many of South Australia's finest wineries

The theme of The Peppertree Restaurant is that of a Victorian Dublin Pub. Born of painstaking attention to detail and insistence on craftsmanship, the restaurant recalls the day when it was as vital to please the eye as the palate. The interior is lavish with the bar made of mighty slabs of timber exquisitely French polished and elaborately carved. These timbers encompass the gilded mirrors and filigreed glass that serve to make the fully-imported bar a visual splendour. Whether you choose to look out over the historic Peppertree Courtyard or gaze into the rafters where Daniel O'Connell's bicycle can be found, the Peppertree Restaurant possesses an abundance of character and a beautiful ambience in which to dine.
